Cannes Film Festival 2012; Moonrise Kingdom Premier
Cannes Film Festival 2012; Fan Bingbing
The 2012 Cannes Film Festival just kicked off and if you have been following my blog for the last 2 years, you will know that there are only two people that matter to me at The Cannes Film Festival red carpet…Naomi Campbell for obvious reasons and the Chinese fashion glamour plate, Fan Bingbing.
As is the customary with Fan Bingbing, she made her entrance in a traditional Chinese designer. She usually follows it up with Parisian haute couture designers especially Elie Saab.
What I love about her is that every single detail looks like it is thought of and planned months in advance because she always has interesting hair and bags to match every gown. She loves drama and she executes it flawlessly!
Here is Fan Bingbing on day 1. More to come, she NEVER disappoints.

The gown is by Christopher Bu and has embroideries which tells the stories of the four beauties of ancient China.

Fan’s hair is a symbol of the Tang dynasty’s noble women. The green accents on her gown were complemented with emerald Chopard jewels
I can’t wait for her to make her long awaited debut at the Oscars whenever that is.
Amanda Lepore, Too Fabulous For Her Own Good.
The best thing I read today was a story from The New York Post, its about Amamnda Lepore and her ENTRANCE at the Christian Loboutin store. The story reads:
Famed transgender artist Amanda Lepore refused to wait in line with hundreds of others at the Christian Louboutin sample sale yesterday morning. The diva shimmied up in a bright red, skin-tight push-up top and pencil skirt around 9:30, when there were already 300 women waiting in the rain, some having been there since 5:30 a.m. A witness said Lepore “started at the back of the line, decided she wasn’t going to wait and proceeded to waltz directly to the front of the 300 people waiting, and demanded to be let in first — which she was. Shoppers stuck in the pouring rain were furious.” An unrepentant Lepore later told us she bought four pairs of shoes and two handbags. She cooed, “They’re just as high and sexy as stripper shoes, but more comfortable.”
Women In Red Are The New Black!
I could have come up with a better heading.
Beyonce @ The 2012 MET Gala
Toronto Fashion Incubator Gala
Last night I attended the Toronto Fashion Incubator gala, they were celebrating their 25th year. A festive event which was held at the Royal Ontario Museum. I was very lucky to score an invite!
Everyone was dressed up to the nines.

I LOVED what I was wearing and you can't tell me any different. You just can't go wrong in Valentino.

African girl sighting! Fierceness all the way from Egypt in Hermes, Christian Louboutins and Louis Vuitton. I will let you in on a little secret, I LOVE stylish pregnant women.

Deborah Anne Dyer: ICON
One of my favorite vocalists of all time is the very raw and edgy exotic beauty, Deborah Anne Dyer. She is most notably known by her stage name Skin or, as the lead singer for the band, Skunk Anansie.
Her music style is very rock/ underground/ punk… I am not the Rolling Stones magazine so that’s the best way I know how to describe her music.

She is very Grace Jones you might say, I think the visual aesthetic is the same but they are very different in many ways.
Below, is my favorite live performance of her. A duet of one of her songs with the legendary Luciano Pavarotti. I will let you form your own opinion on how awesome she is.
If that wasn’t love, then I don’t know what is. Speaking of love, this year she released an epic dance track called If This Ain’t Love. I am currently listening and dancing to it really hard, I am filing this one under summer ANTHEM!

Terrific Thursdays
If you have a party that you would like me to attend, do not hesitate to send those invitations.
Massive @ The AGO 2012
Last night I attended the annual Massive party at the Art Gallery Of Ontario (AGO). It was my third time to attend as I have blogged about it before here and here. This event keeps getting more boring every year it seems.

This was what I wore and the dress was a HIT! Everybody seemed to have seen it somewhere before. I think this is the worst picture I have ever taken.
African Engagement Party; Ghana
This weekend was the engagement party of our favorite fashionista from Ghana who we have featured again and again and again and again. Engagement party you ask? Well, in Ghana as it is in most African cultures, we throw a party for anything but mostly, to commemorate the various initiations and stages of life.
Her is Zak All for the daytime and nightime portion of his engagement party complete with costume changes. Many of our favorite African fashionistas were in attendance from Ghana to Nigeria to Sierra Leone.
Check it out!

Guests. You have to really bring your fashion game to African functions. Nothing is out of limit, even wearing a white gown.
