The Occupy movement has really been gaining momentum starting with Tunisia then Egypt (those innovative Africans) who paved way for the early adapters in the Middle East with the Arab Spring movement. It has now spilled into North America to the trendsetters of NYC with the Occupy Wall street movement that is now being embraced all around the world.
Check out the video below as Keith Olbermann tells it like it is as he reads a statement from Occupy Wall street.

The Face Of Courage

Has anybody been watching Anderson Cooper's new talk show? I have and I prefer him as a news anchor (you want my honest review right?). HOWEVER.....
The most remarkable thing I have watched all year was on Anderson Cooper’s talk show today. He was interviewing various women who had been in relationships where there was domestic abuse. One of those women, Connie Culp (the woman whose husband shot her on the face with a shotgun had the most chilling words of advise.
“If your husband threatens you in any way, its gonna get worse. Even if they say something to you, they tell you, oh, you’re ugly and you’re stupid. ” But if somebody points something to you and they say they’re gonna do it, eventually there gonna do it
I got chills down my spine when she said that she would still seek her now ex husband after she had no face to seek closure and, to try to have him acknowledge his responsibility. .. he laughed at her face!!!!
Then there is also this other brave woman who escaped from hell.

Never Going To Say Goodbye
Thank you Oprah for all the tears and laughter, truly entertaining. You will be missed.
Sustainable Agriculture
I know sometime last year I had mentioned something about factory farming and sustainable agriculture.
The squeamish Lucy Ling who was acting as a special correspondent for the Oprah show took us inside the largest factory farm in the world. Of course there was a lot of stage crafting but as she walked us through the whole process of “from live animal to meat in the grocery store”, I found it very fascinating. I have only previously seen a factory farm from a vegan activists perspective.

This store/chain called Rowe Farms just opened across the street from me. That's where I bought my fat free yogurt.
The Rowe Farm business module is geared towards animal products that are produced from sustainable agriculture. This means that everything is anti-biotic free, growth hormone free, locally grown and also considers animal welfare.
Note: This weekend (Feb 4th& 5th) is the official grand opening of the Rowe Farms on Bloor street. They are offering FREE CHICKEN to the first 50 customers on both days!
Oprah OWN’s Fergi
I am anxiously anticipating the launch of Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network! It is strongly speculated that The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson will play a part in the programming.
OWN network launches on the first day of 2011. I cant wait!!
