8 Flavahz
In December of 2011, I introduced you to a fierce little dancer girl called Charlize Glass who totally captured my heart with her dance moves. Today, a friend of mine randomly sends me the video below and I am like…THATS CHARLIZE GLASS!!!!
I love it when stuff like this happens. Check out the 8 Flavahz dance crew as they vogue their way into America’s hearts. Just remember where you hear about the trends first before they happen.
Below is a new rehearsal video from my favorite little powerhouse dancer, Charlize Glass.
TGIF Hunniiii Dasssiiitttt!!!
Because I predict the return of the ankle strap stiletto pump, I am going to share with you a personal story of when my love for all things high heel was born.
I was sitting at home watching music videos in Kenya many years ago AND THEN, the Mariah Carey video for Honey premiered and changed my life forever.
I love the part where she swims in them… as if you don’t know what I am talking about. ENJOY!
BIOPIRACY
Do you know what Biopiracy is? I bet we begin to hear more and more about it soon… yet another way that the developed world continues to fleece the developing/ “third” world.
Biopiracy is a situation where indigenous knowledge of nature, originating with indigenous people, is exploited for commercial gain without permission from and with no compensation to the indigenous people themselves
Below is an example of a recent case in the media where the Government Of India sued a corporation.
Tove Styrke; Hot New Artist
Once again from Sweden, comes another hot pop artist. Could she be the next Robyn?

Check out the latest single from Tove Styrke below, Call My Name.
Miss Universe Tonight!!
I am staying home tonight glued to my TV to watch Miss Universe. Let’s see if my predictions come true! It’s a really tough one to call but i am going to narrow it down to 3 girls.
I know I said 3 but I will not be able to live with myself if I leave out this sassy South American jalapeno pepper below:
“Introducing?” Amada Lew Kee
I only say “Introducing”? because that’s what the article in the international avant garde fashion magazine i-D says.
The only difference being that, the i-D article came out today and I introduced Amanda Lew Kee (now based in New York) to the world last year on February 14th!
You go girl!
Louis Vuitton Goes Maasai
The latest menswear collection from Louis Vuitton spring 2012 tells us only 1 thing, Africa is the original black and will never go out of style.
I am so inspired!
Gay Men Don’t Get Fat
It’s Gay Pride Month and what a way to kick it off than with campy literature!

I believe this picture was taken maybe 4 years ago at Toronto Gay Pride. I was in a yellow Carolina Herrera silk taffeta cocktail dress (which I have not worn in years) and I met the nicest guy from DC who I would randomly meet again years later at a birthday dinner in New York. He was so strong too!
Anyway, Simon Doonan, the creative director at Barneys has just inked a deal too release a new book that I predict will be a best seller. The book tries to explain why gay men are just French women in disguise… they love fashion, sexy underwear and they don’t get fat!
Here is a short article with excerpts from Gay Men Don’t Get Fat. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
So clever!

Introducing: Star Models and Supermoguls
Today I came across a very interesting article on Forbes. It discussed how the world is saying goodbye to Supermodels and saying hello to something they are calling Star Models. This is in relation to how much more money some elite models are banking. Check it out!
